About Us

The Beach Bunch Association is a passionate non-governmental, non-profit environmental organisation whose mission is to "sustain and protect the beaches of Brunei from pollution"

The Beach Bunch was founded in Jan 2009 by two good friends, one an avid surfer, Alan Tan and the other an environmental consultant, Rizan Latif - both frustrated by the state of the beaches and the lack of education to the public. Together they decided something had to be done, and slowly but surely they gathered more friends who were just as passionate and conducted their first clean-up. It was a small group but everyone felt great that they had done a good deed for dear mother-nature!

From then on, this small group decided to make it official and registered themselves as an association with the Brunei Registrar of Societies. The Beach Bunch was officially established in January 2010 and have been going strong since, with the support of new members, countless volunteers, sponsors and morale support by the government of Brunei.

We accomplish our mission through beach clean-ups and environmental education.

We organise and conduct cleaning campaigns regularly on Brunei beaches

• We organise and conduct awareness programs on waste management on the beaches

• We assist where possible other associations, clubs, corporations & government agencies in promoting beach cleaning campaigns

• We promote reduction in waste generation in particular plastic bottles and plastics bag

• We provide environmental education programs through public, private and educational institutions
